The VanderBear family are introduced in the North American 1983 Catalog as "The Classic Teddy Bear Family (Jointed)"
Offered as dressed and undressed bears (most were tush tag body type):
20" Cornelius - black velvet trousers, suspenders, white shirt, black bow tie
18" Alice - black velvet drop-waist dress with lace cuffs, lace neck insert, white ribbon sash (first dress featured white pearl buttons in back; second version had a snap back closure)
12" Fluffy - black velvet smock dress with white lace collar, white ear bow
12" Fuzzy - black velvet knickers with two white buttons, white shirt, black ribbon bow tie
Muffy Christening (1984-2001)
Muffy is introduced as "The New Arrival" in the 1994 Supplement Catalog
Offered as dressed and undressed bear; tush tag and tiny loop tag on early bears (versions I and II)
7" Muffy - White Christening gown with a ribbon tie-on cap; the eyelet trim, flowers and ribbons vary
Christening I - gown sewn shut on bear
Christening II - gown with 2 snaps in back
Christening III - gown with 1 button and 1 snap in back
Christening IV - gown with pink ribbon tie in back
Original hangtag was a single tag with white string; later a small folded tag was used and string was switched out for gold elastic cord at some point
